FREQUENTLY ASKED

FAQ — Culinary Trail Tour

Do I need any cooking experience to join this tour?
Not at all! Our cooking classes are designed for all skill levels — from complete beginners to experienced home cooks and even professional chefs. Our instructors are patient, encouraging, and will guide you through every step. The focus is on having fun while learning authentic Indian cooking techniques.
Can the tour accommodate dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free)?
Absolutely! Indian cuisine is incredibly vegetarian and vegan-friendly. We can customise every cooking class and meal to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, or any other dietary requirements. Just let us know when booking and we'll tailor the entire culinary experience to your needs.
What is the best time of year for this culinary tour?
The best time is from October to March when the weather is pleasant across all destinations. This is also the season for many Indian food festivals and fresh seasonal ingredients. The monsoon season (July–September) offers a unique experience in Kerala and Goa with special rainy-season dishes, though some outdoor activities may be affected.
Will I get recipes to take home?
Yes! You will receive a personalised recipe booklet containing all the recipes from your 6 cooking classes, complete with step-by-step instructions, ingredient lists, and chef's tips. You'll also receive a custom spice box with carefully selected Indian spices so you can recreate the dishes at home immediately.
Is the street food safe to eat?
Safety is our top priority. Our food expert guides carefully select only the most reputable and hygienic street food vendors — many of which have been serving food for generations. We choose vendors known for high turnover (ensuring freshness) and clean preparation methods. We also provide bottled water and hand sanitiser throughout the food walks.
How spicy is Indian food? Can the spice level be adjusted?
Indian food ranges from mild to very spicy, and our chefs will always adjust the spice level to your preference during cooking classes. You'll learn that Indian spices are about flavour, not just heat — many dishes use aromatic spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and saffron that add depth without any chilli heat at all.
Can the itinerary be customised?
Yes! We specialise in customised culinary tours. You can extend the tour, add extra destinations (like Hyderabad for biryani, Amritsar for Punjabi food, or Kolkata for Bengali sweets), upgrade hotels, or focus on specific cuisines. Just fill out the enquiry form with your preferences and we'll create a tailor-made culinary itinerary for you.
What is the cancellation policy?
We offer flexible cancellation: Full refund if cancelled 30+ days before departure. 50% refund if cancelled 15-29 days before. No refund for cancellations within 14 days of departure. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for added protection.
