What is the best time to visit Amritsar?
The best time to visit Amritsar is from October to March when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing. The winter months (November–February) are particularly beautiful with temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C. Avoid visiting during the peak summer months (May–June) when temperatures can exceed 45°C. The festive season around Baisakhi (April) and Diwali is also a wonderful time to experience the Golden Temple in its full glory.
Is there a dress code for visiting the Golden Temple?
Yes, visitors must cover their heads before entering the Golden Temple complex. Head coverings are available free of charge at the entrance. You must also remove your shoes (free shoe storage is available) and wash your feet in the shallow pool before entering. How do I reach the Wagah Border from Amritsar?
The Wagah Border is approximately 30 km from Amritsar city and takes about 45 minutes by car. Our tour includes private transport to and from the border. The ceremony takes place every evening before sunset (timing varies by season). We recommend arriving at least 1-2 hours early to get good seats.
