FREQUENTLY ASKED

FAQ — Tiger Safari Ranthambore

What is the best time to visit Ranthambore National Park?
The best time to visit Ranthambore is from October to June. The park is closed during the monsoon season (July–September). For the highest chances of tiger sightings, visit between March and June when the vegetation is dry and tigers come out to water sources. Winter months (November–February) offer pleasant weather but denser foliage.
What are the chances of spotting a tiger?
Ranthambore has one of the highest tiger sighting rates in India. With 4 safari sessions over 2 days, the probability of spotting at least one tiger is approximately 70-80%. The park currently has over 80 tigers, and many are habituated to safari vehicles. Our expert naturalists know the tiger territories and use alarm calls to track them.
What is the difference between a Gypsy and a Canter safari?
A Gypsy is an open-top 4x4 vehicle that seats 6 passengers. It's more manoeuvrable and can access narrower trails, offering a more intimate wildlife experience. A Canter is a larger open-top vehicle seating 20 passengers. It's more economical but less flexible. We recommend the Gypsy for the best safari experience, which is included in our standard package.
Is the safari safe for children and elderly travellers?
Yes, the safari is completely safe for all age groups. The park has strict safety protocols, and the animals are wild but habituated to vehicles. Children above 5 years are allowed on safaris. For elderly travellers, we can arrange comfortable seating and ensure the safari pace is suitable. The resort also offers accessible facilities.
What should I wear and bring on the safari?
Wear neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, brown, beige) — avoid bright colours and white. Bring a hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, binoculars, a camera with a zoom lens, a light jacket (mornings can be chilly), and a scarf to cover your face from dust. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are recommended. The park does not allow plastic bottles.
Can I book a private Gypsy for my group?
Yes! We offer private Gypsy upgrades at an additional cost of approximately ₹3,500 per safari session. A private Gypsy ensures you have the entire vehicle for your group (up to 6 people), giving you more flexibility and a personalised experience. We recommend booking early as private Gypsys are limited.
How do I reach Ranthambore from Jaipur or Delhi?
From Jaipur: Ranthambore (Sawai Madhopur) is approximately 180 km from Jaipur — about 3.5 hours by road or 2 hours by train. From Delhi: It's approximately 400 km — about 7 hours by road or 5 hours by train (via Jaipur). We provide private AC vehicle transfers from both cities, or you can take the convenient Rajdhani/Shatabdi Express trains.
What is the cancellation policy?
We offer flexible cancellation: Full refund if cancelled 30+ days before departure. 50% refund if cancelled 15-29 days before. No refund for cancellations within 14 days of departure. Safari permits once booked are non-refundable as per government rules. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for added protection.
